Why this website exists
Every week CANRO’s technicians meet homeowners who have just missed a rebate: an old furnace that went to the dump before anyone photographed it, an installer who wasn’t on the right list, a deadline that passed. The rebate programs themselves are generous; the rules just aren’t written for homeowners. George, who founded CANRO in 1999, wanted one place where anyone in BC could find out what they qualify for in plain English, without filling in a form or being sold to. That’s CANRO Rebates.

How we keep rebate information accurate
- Every amount and rule is checked against the official FortisBC, Better Homes BC or Government of Canada page, and each guide links to its sources.
- Where an official page doesn’t confirm a detail, we say so (“confirm before relying”) rather than guessing.
- Pages show the date they were last fact-checked. This version was checked October 15, 2026.
- Guides are written by our rebate team and reviewed by George, who has worked on Metro Vancouver heating systems for more than 25 years.
What we don’t do
- We are not FortisBC, CleanBC or a government agency, and we don’t pay rebates or approve applications.
- We don’t collect your data through forms, run trackers or sell leads. There’s no form on this site.
- We never promise an amount the program administrator hasn’t confirmed.
